Are You An Entrepreneur Who Keeps Losing (And Gaining Back) The Same 20 lbs? Here Are 5 Mistakes That Are Stopping You From Losing Your Belly Fat For Good:

In 1999, I started my personal training & health coaching career in Miami Beach, Florida.

When I first started, I thought my clients just needed new information. Some did. But most needed help to break bad habits and create healthy ones.

These are the most common mistake I see entrepreneurs make with fat loss:

1: Quick Fixes

Quick fixes are any fat loss strategy that you know you can’t keep up with.

Many of my clients have tried keto and intermittent fasting. But they couldn’t stick with it. They craved carbs on keto and got irritable when they skipped breakfast.

The way out of the yo-yo diet trap is to find the right amount of calories and protein using foods you’re already eating. This takes time to do. But it leads to sustainable fat loss because you enjoy the foods you’re eating.

Action: If you can’t see yourself using your current diet for 10 years then look for another strategy.

2: Too Much Stress

Surveys have shown that men tend to drink too much and women overeat when they’re stressed.

Stress affects your appetite and your memory. I had a stressed client tell me that he realized that he would grab handfuls of candy when walking through his office and not even realize it.

Action: Schedule one stress-reducing activity on your calendar every week.

3: Trying To Do Too Much

You’re doing too much if you can’t be consistent.

I had a CFO client start with 5-minute workouts before work. Most people think 5-minutes of exercise is a waste of time. They’re wrong.

We added exercises over time. But we started small to build his habit. He lost 20lbs in 4 months using this approach.

Action: Start with small habits that you can’t say “no” to.

4: Not Changing Your Environment

It’s nearly impossible to lose fat if you’re surrounded by unhealthy food.

Being surrounded by people who drink and eat too much will also make it unlikely that you’ll achieve your goal.

Discipline isn’t the issue. Everyone fails in an environment that is constantly working against them. If you don’t change your environment, you won’t be able to change permanently either.

Action: Build an environment that makes doing your healthy habits easy.

5: Focused On The Outcome, Not The Process

Have you ever started a weight loss program then stepped on the scale and got upset at the number?

This is one of the things that makes people quit before they even get started. We’ve had to ask clients to weigh in only once per week to avoid the urge to quit which happens after seeing a number on the scale they didn’t like.

We help our clients lose 4–6 lbs in the 1st 10 days of our program. But we make sure to tell them that there will be weeks when they may not lose any weight at all. Being consistent with their habits regardless of the weigh-in is how we get sustainable results with our coaching.

Whether you work with me or not, this will help you break the yo-yo diet cycle.

Action: Focus on your completing your weekly habits, not the outcome.
